So Jay Paterno left staff

My question really is why. I’ve only skimmed through a single article so I’m not sure if he’s stated a reason, but I’m curious if it’s because:

  • Penn State got rid of his father, and he was only staying here until they had an official new coach
  • He would have stayed if and only if the new coach was PSU-affiliated
  • He simply doesn’t agree Bill O’Brien was a good choice.
  • It was under strong influence of his father and/or the BoT to leave.

Either way, I’m actually excited for this. We, as Nittany Lions, have  entered a new era for our football program. I’m not going to say a “cleaner” or “honest” one, cause let’s face: it to err is to be human, and everyone’s got some sort of skeleton hidden in their closet. I’m not going to say it’ll be a better or worse one, not following NFL, I can’t say whether or not O’Brien is a great coach.

What I do know is, times change and the slate is cleaned. Ladies, and gents, your thoughts?

  1. justsayinggg answered: it wasn’t jay paterno’s choice to leave, the new head coach gets to pick his staff.
